Cosmonauts of Inner Space
The project brought together Greek, Belgian and international artists, scientists and researchers across a wide range of media, including interactive installation, artificial intelligence, painting, sculpture, video and performance.
Conceived and curated by Spyros Verykios, Cosmonauts of Inner Space unfolded across Athens, Brussels and Tokyo. The Brussels presentation was curated by Ilia Katsaridou, who also contributed the theoretical framework and exhibition text. Taking Fantastic Voyage as an initial trigger, the project focused on explorations of the human interior and the shifting relationship between microcosm and macrocosm, inner and outer space, artistic and scientific research.

Project
The exhibition examined the dialectical relationship between inner and outer space, microcosm and macrocosm, private and social experience, and the different means used to approach these fields.
Rather than defining “inner space” narrowly, the project invited artistic, scientific and theoretical approaches spanning biology, philosophy, psychology, sociology, technology and spatial research.
